UP asked cities to submit Smart City proposals

The chief secretary has instructed local bodies of all 12 cities in Uttar Pradesh selected under Smart City development plan to submit final proposals with the state government by November 30 so that they may be forwarded to the Centre in time. He also asked officials to ensure that maximum possible people participate in giving suggestions for developing models for Smart City. He also suggested that officials can conduct online and offline polls among educated section of people to prepare the model of development in various cities.

Alok Ranjan said that divisional commissioners should analyse Smart City proposals prepared by respective consultant agencies thoroughly so that scoring model is followed and maximum cities of UP get a chance to benefit under the development plan. The local agencies have been asked to encourage maximum participation by people through enough advertisement and publicity to give suggestions, ideas and feedback for Smart City development on websites of local bodies, mygov.in and social networking sites.
